About The Event
Join the Coastlove team and Big Pine Changemakers for our Adopt-A-Highway event as we clean up Overseas Highway on Big Pine Key. We are meeting at Big Pine Academy and will clean a stretch of Overseas Highway between mile markers 29-31. Approximately 269 000 tons of plastic found its way into our oceans last year. Most of US 1 is often referred to as " The highway that goes to the sea." The trash and debris we see on the side of the roads and in our mangroves will eventually end up in the ocean! Help us keep our Keys clean!
Be sure to bring:
● Sun protection
● Bug spray and/or wear long sleeves and pants
● Closed-toed shoes are required
● Towel
● Reusable water bottle
