About The Event
Celebrate World Oceans Day with Coastlove and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission by cleaning up Sammy Creek Conservation Area in the Lower Florida Keys! This beautiful area is home to mangrove and hardwood hammock habitats and is teeming with marine life.
We will be cleaning up the shorelines and mangroves—so plan to get wet! Some areas are only accessible by water, so please bring your kayak or paddleboard if possible. Water, music, and refreshments will be provided.There are picnic tables, so feel free to bring lunch and spend the afternoon at the park after the event.
Special Instructions:
Much of the area is undeveloped mangrove habitat with low-hanging branches and uneven walking surfaces. It’s summertime in the Florida Keys, so please come prepared for the weather. Insect repellent is highly recommended.
